“Everyone is too busy thinking outside the box, thus why not think inside the box creatively”
I love digital illustration but for any kind of work initial sketching is a must. Without sketching and having rough ideas ready on paper, it is difficult to convert it digitally. Intricate inking work is my most favorite task to do.
Source of inspiration
Inspiration lies around us, always.
We just have to look at the things differently!
Most memorable project
Humanimal is my final year illustration project which is close to my heart.
Human + animal= humanimal. Panchatantra exhibits stories of animal stereotypes. Throughout these fables, the talking animals and birds behave as humans & are used to invoke characters with stereotypical personalities.
Many animal stereotypes reflect anthropomorphic notions unrelated to animals’ true behaviour.
Do humans behave like these animal stereotypes sometimes? What happens when we find these traits in humans? Yes, it is possible.
Many times we use these as phrases like cunning fox, lazy donkey, wise & old turtle, stupid pig,
geek owl etc.
Thus, I have done morphing in a subtle way to highlight these traits in human.
What is the most challenging task you face in your job?
Thinking creative ideas and executing them in the most creative way possible is definitely a challenge!
Any final words of wisdom?
Looking at day to day life experiences with a different outlook is what makes a person different. This is what makes a person an ‘Artist’.
